Polly, a mischievous young monkey, had always been the most energetic in the troop. She loved to play, swing from tree to tree, and sometimes, tease the other monkeys. However, her playful nature often got her into trouble.
One bright afternoon, as the sun cast golden hues over the dense jungle, Polly spotted little baby Bella clinging to her mother’s fur. Bella was much smaller and newer to the world, still discovering her surroundings with wide, curious eyes. She had only recently begun exploring on her own, taking tiny, cautious steps away from her mother.
Polly, eager to have some fun, approached Bella and gently tugged at her tiny tail. Bella turned to look at her, unsure whether it was a friendly gesture or something else. Encouraged by Bella’s innocent stare, Polly playfully nipped at Bella’s tiny hand. Bella squeaked in surprise but didn’t cry. But when Polly, still full of excitement, bit Bella’s ear a little too hard, Bella let out a loud, piercing cry.
The jungle echoed with her wails as she scurried back to her mother, clinging to her tightly. Bella’s mother immediately turned toward Polly with a sharp look. The other monkeys stopped what they were doing, watching the situation unfold.
Realizing she had gone too far, Polly backed away, ears flattening in guilt. She hadn’t meant to hurt Bella, only to play. But baby Bella was still too small to understand Polly’s rough games.
A few moments later, Bella’s mother comforted her, and Polly hesitantly approached, lowering her head in apology. Bella sniffled but peeked at Polly curiously. With a little time and a softer touch, Polly would soon learn the right way to play with her tiny friend.
